Welcome to Mountain Heirlooms:
A Disaster Recovery Doll Initiative For Girls Impacted By Storms 
—a Christian, family-led mission bringing comfort and hope to girls affected by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina (2024),  the 4th of July Texas flood (2025 and Typhoon Halong in Western Alaska ( 2025).  With my daughters and the support of our Facebook community, we gift American Girl dolls and turn them into cherished companions of hope and healing for girls ages 6 to 13.
Over 600 delivered so far! 

SPECIAL UPDATE: CURRENT MISSION: Alaska now closed.
136 have been distributed to girls impacted by Typhoon Halong.

 It is almost like PTSD.

We pray constantly, and I make them aware not to question God because this was apart of his plan.

The Disaster Recovery Doll Initiative began as a response to the devastation left by Hurricane Helene in 2024.

With so many children facing loss, we wanted to create a tangible way to bring healing and joy.

Each lovingly restored American Girl Doll comes with:

WHERE DO YOU FIND THE DOLLS?

We’ve sourced our dolls from Goodwill, eBay, Facebook Marketplace, and donations for our online community.

Then, we hunt down clothing bundles and handmade dresses- many made by our community members.

Every part of the process has been intentional, from cleaning and refurbishing the dolls to dressing them beautifully and thoughtfully.

 She is over the moon! Never had a doll this fancy. She keeps it safe in its case when she’s not holding it close and playing with it. Her little sister Avery was very happy to be included with the pup! 
 
She's so happy. She said "She's the best doll ever!" and she's been playing with her since she opened the box. She loved everything about her. I was going to wait for her birthday next month but I couldn't. She got very quiet for a while and I went and checked on her and she had drawn a portrait of her Anna doll. She is calling her Anna.
